Employees should be treated with respect and dignity and, therefore, should expect the safest workplace possible. Let’s face it: Construction can be a dangerous profession. At Trehel, we believe in fair labor practices and adhering to OSHA state and federal laws. Our TrehelCARE safety program features detailed written safety standards, policies, and procedures and continuous education training programs to promote a culture of care and sustain safe working conditions.
Safety is just another area that we are committed to caring for our team members, their families, building partners, and clients. Our values provide a reliable benchmark when measuring our performance and reach beyond statistical measures. Safety is an integral part of every successful project, from pre-planning to post-construction.
Although our motivation may be slightly different, we have achieved time-proven results from looking at safety as a non-negotiable item driven by our values. Ongoing training and pursuit of team member involvement consistently work together to keep our sites and employees safe. Our Workers’ Compensation Experience Modification Rate (EMR) and our OSHA recordable rates reflect our firm commitment to the health and wellbeing of our team members.
Our current Worker’s Compensation Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of .72 demonstrates a strong and decisive implementation of our core values. Weekly safety meetings are held with every Superintendent, Project Manager, and Craft employee. A New Employee Safety Orientation Program is required before a team member reports for duty on the jobsite. Our VP of Safety and Field Operations, Adam Owens, makes weekly visits to the jobsite and develops a site safety plan prior to mobilization.
